Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 28, 2026

Introduction

Carthage Labs ("we", "our", "us") operates the US Passport Photo mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our App.

Information We Collect

Photos and Camera Access: The App requires camera access to take passport photos. Photos are processed entirely on your device. We do not upload, store, or transmit your photos to any server.

Account Information: If you sign in (optional), we collect your email address and authentication credentials through Firebase Authentication.

Usage Analytics: We use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymized usage data such as screen views, feature usage, and crash reports. This data does not identify you personally.

Advertising:The free tier of the App displays ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data as described in Google's advertising privacy policy.

How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and improve the App's functionality
  • To process your subscription (if applicable)
  • To display relevant advertisements (free tier)
  • To diagnose crashes and technical issues

Data Storage and Security

Photos are processed on-device and never leave your phone unless you explicitly share or export them. Account data is stored securely using Firebase with industry-standard encryption.

Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services:

  • Firebase (Authentication, Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config)
  • Google AdMob (advertising)
  • RevenueCat (subscription management)

Each service has its own privacy policy governing the data it collects.

Subscriptions

Pro subscriptions are managed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Payment information is handled entirely by the respective platform — we do not have access to your payment details.

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Your Rights

You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us. You can also manage ad preferences through your device settings.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
